Encryption & EU Data Protection
Your health data is deeply personal, and Medalixy is built to protect it at every level.
All sensitive medical free-text — including diary notes, symptom descriptions, and AI-generated report summaries — is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM, one of the strongest encryption standards available today. This means your private health information stays protected even at the database level.
When AI analysis is used to interpret your health data, Medalixy applies pseudonymization before any text is processed: personal identifiers such as names, emails, and phone numbers are automatically stripped and replaced with a secure, consistent anonymous token. This allows the AI to recognize patterns and trends in your health history over time — without ever seeing who you actually are.
Medalixy is designed with EU data protection principles (GDPR) at its core:
- Right to be Forgotten – You can withdraw consent at any time, permanently and immediately deleting all of your medical data, while your account itself remains intact.
